Diagonal and Horizontal Bingo!
Thanks to all the bands that “played” in Roktoberfest Bingo.
What a great day — and continued weekend — of music, fest, and fun.
Next up… Carmel PorchFest happening this afternoon.
For the old-school peeps, they have maps.
For the cool kids… they have a seriously well-designed app.
I was skeptical… I downloaded it… it works.

Roktoberfest Bingo, Day 2
It’s Saturday of Roktoberfest!
Roktoberfest Bingo Game Day is coming to a venue near you!
Get fired up.
Day 1 was a success…good start.
Lots of ways to plan your music day…diagonal, horizontal, vertical.
Bands. Beers. Bratwurst. Does not get better. 🎶🍻🌭

Yes…that’s actually the Beer Barrel Polka.
Why on earth would someone legitimately, actually learn to dance the Beer Barrel Polka?
I mean, I did…in high school…in the school musical…because a certain young lady for whom I had affection asked me to.
What’s a guy to do? 🤷🏻♂️

Like the Menu at the Cheesecake Factory, Pt. 1
It’s Thursday, September 17th…there is good news and there is bad news.
This is one of THOSE weeks where live music in Indianapolis is like the menu at the Cheesecake Factory…there’s soooo much, it can be overwhelming (bad news).
BUT…but with proper planning, diligence, and curation on your part…you can do it…you can make the choices that will satiate your musical palate (good news).
We’re not even going to think about the entrée page yet (this week is Oktoberfest 🤯, upcoming Pt. 2); we are going to stick with the appetizer page…tonight’s Third Thursday in Broad Ripple.

Of course, 317 BBQ has Michael Kelsey…that’s a given.

Open Mic Is Like a Box of Chocolates
Sometimes…sometimes Open Mics can be like a box of chocolates. You know…you never know what you’re going to get.
Last night at Northbrook Brewing Open Mic, hosted by Samm Eye Amm , a sea salt caramel-filled chocolate appeared in the lineup.
Cue…Kassey King.
Prior to her gig, I asked her what she was going to play…cover, original. Honestly, I don’t think she had really decided…kinda gonna go with the flow.
As always, I urged ORIGINAL.
“We’ll see.”
After slaying Wildflowers and Wild Horses…”I’m barefoot and ba****ck and born tough as nails…”
Kassey, reluctantly (why reluctant I don’t know), shared two originals.
Put Kassey on your “to see” list.
In fact, you can do just that at the Mad Tap Medicine Show at The Mad Tap this Saturday at 5:00pm. Samm Eye Amm gets things started earlier in the day, and Jess & The Average Joes headline at 6:00pm.
