It’s clear that many of you are upset about the proposed wheel tax for Marion County.

Now that you’ve made your voices heard online, it’s time to take the next step.

I encourage you to attend these upcoming City-County Council meetings downtown.

We can talk about how mad we are on social media all day long, but real change is more likely to happen when decision-makers hear directly from the people they represent.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend with you because I have prior Army Reserve obligations that were scheduled well in advance. But I hope many of you will take the opportunity to engage and let the council know where you stand.

If you decide to speak, you will have two minutes. I recommend rehearsing what you want to say beforehand so you can make the most of your time.

As our nation approaches its 250th birthday next month, remember that Americans have never been shy about speaking up when they believe taxes are unfair. Make your voice heard.
