We regret to have to cancel tonight's online meeting featuring a presentation on Ukrainian drone mail. We attempt to reschedule the presentation.

Our next in-person meeting will be on Sept. 3 in Independence--the usual time and location. The next issue of Perryscope, the club newsletter, will have infromation about upcoming meetings and events and other philatelic news.

This Thursday, Aug. 6, we will host our monthly meeting online.
The program will be on Ukrainian drone mail, a first in the long war effort of the Ukrainian military.
David Ball, president of the American Air Mail Society, will discuss the recent use of a drone to carry mail aloft and the collaboration of philatelists worldwide in the effort.
We'll post a link to the presentation, set for 7 p.m. in the coming days.

Lakewood, Ohio, photographer David Schwartz has spent 22 years traveling and photographing the sights and sounds along the famed Route 66. His work caught the eye of the U.S. Postal Service and he collaborated with the agency on creating a pane of 16 stamps marking the centennial of the Mother Road, as the highway is known.
GP member Dennis Sadowski interviewed Schwartz for his stamp collecting column in The Chronicle-Telegram in Elyria, Ohio. His column is presented here. Sadowski is also preparing a more in-depth feature on Schwartz for the October issue of Scott Stamp Monthly.

The Rattlesnake Island Local Post turns 60 in August. This year also marks the centennial of the iconic Ford Tri-Motor, which was integral to RILP in the first decade of its service.

Our final in-person meeting for the summer takes place Thursday, June 4.
GP vice president Ray Beer will be updating us on the latest counterfeit stamps entering the market. His previous presentations have offered a comprehensive look at the so-called stamps that we see being sold far below face value on the market.
Join us at 7 p.m., at the Wyndham Independence, 6200 Quarry Lane, Independence, Ohio. There's an optional Dutch-treat pre-meeting dinner at the hotel's restaurant at 6 p.m.
Remember, the July and August meetings will be online via Zoom.

GP members today again were busy at Boston 2026 World Expo.
Ken Nilsestuen, president of the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors this morning staffed the organization's booth with Bruce Wasserman, editor of the American Air Mail Society's Airpost Journal.
While there, Michael Bloom, exhibit judge and trustee of the American Philiatelic Research Library stopped by to chat with his wife, Jamie.
Elsewhere, Greg Shoults was at the volunteers office.
Also at the show were Carol Thacher, Alan Hanzal, Rocco Caponi and Dennis Sadowski amond others.

Garfield-Perry members are participating in Boston 2026 World Expo.
Ken Nilsestuen and Rocco Caponi shared a laugh with a friend at the reception following the ceremony where four collectors joined the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists.
Ken also visited with James Mazepa of the Polonus Polish Philatelic Society at the society's booth.
Alan Hanzl has been busy with presentations as vice president of the Society for Czechoslovak Philately.
Plus Carol Thatcher and Dennis Sadowski are enjoying all that the show has to offer: first day of issue ceremonies, society meetings, seminars and more.
Just two more days left until the show becomes history.

Jere Dutt is doing yeoman's work coordinating show volunteers.

Alan Hanzl is staffing the booth and will give two presentations on behalf of the Society for Czechoslovak Philately.

Carol Thatcher is enjoying the show and helping raise GP's profile.

President Howard Chapman, also president of the Society of Israel Philatelists, is greeting visitors and sharing information about the society. Mike Bass also is assisting at the booth.

Dennis Sadowski is covering the show for Canadian Stamp News.
