If you care for someone living with a physical, mental, or memory health issue, you are invited to attend this safe, confidential support group. The group will meet in the Community Room at the Independence Public Library.

Attendees will develop mutual support and social relationships, as well as learn and develop methods and skills to solve problems.

Join us for a special All Iowa Reads evening featuring The Quiet Librarian by Allen Eskens. We’ll begin with a brief book discussion from 6:00–6:30 PM before joining the statewide virtual conversation with Allen Eskens at 6:30 PM. Attend either portion of the evening or stay for both.

Eskens previously visited our library during the 2022 One Book Indee season, and we’re excited to reconnect with him for this special statewide event. Join TJ from Network Nirvana at IPL for the new season of Minecraft! Players will take on Zombies in Atlantis, where they will navigate an underwater city that’s been lost to time. Pizza provided by Pizza Ranch is included in this fun after-hours event!

This program is appropriate for students entering grades 5-12 this coming fall.

Calling all creative thinkers and changemakers! The Independence Public Library Teen Advisory Board (iTAB) is hosting open meetings this summer for teens entering grades 7–12, and we want to hear your ideas!
