Parents, please talk to your kids about this.
Today one of our trucks caught this incident on their dash camera. A kid on an electric scooter came speeding out from a side street onto the road in front of one of our tow trucks. Thankfully, our driver saw him and was able to react in time. These scooters, specifically electric scooters, are fast, and kids can be hard to see, and big trucks can’t stop on a dime. This incident could have had a very different ending.
Please remind your kids to be safe when using not only electric scooters but electric bicycles, and make sure to STOP and look both ways before entering onto any roadway. And make sure to discuss helmet safety, and that your kids wear their helmets while operating any scooter or bicycle, electric or not.
We applaud our driver with his responsive and quick action to stop the truck and additionally check on the kid and make sure that he was alright.
