My glass studio used to be on the main street in my town and I recall one busy summer afternoon when a man came in, walked around looking at everything, then stopped in the middle of the shop and announced "I DON'T LIKE STAINED GLASS" and walked out.

I've been participating in creative writing sessions at a local community center and was asked how I dealt with criticism/negative reviews of my work.

The short answer is that they're par for the course for any creative or artistic endeavor.
Some criticism is valid. Some is vapid. You learn to spot the difference.
You're not going to please everyone, but informed or not, everyone has an opinion. And now there's the internet. So the important thing is to keep working.
