SAFE Rescue Team is Saving Animals From Euthanasia! We are a non-profit 501 (c)(3) 🤍

This happened!
On Tuesday, a Good Samaritan reached out after finding a stray dog in the middle of a road in Santa Ana. She was in very poor condition, and neighbors said she had been wandering the area for several days. 🫣
We told the finder we would be happy to help, but because there was a strong possibility that someone was missing this sweet girl, we wanted to give every opportunity for her to be reunited with her family first. The finder was understandably worried about taking her to a shelter, fearing she might be euthanized. We walked them through the process of bringing her to the county shelter and explained that, if no owner came forward, they could be first in line to adopt her after the required stray hold. This way, they could stay involved and help ensure she exited the shelter safely.
Fast forward a few days: no microchip was found, and no one came looking for her. After her 72-hour stray hold ended, the shelter released her to the finder, who then entrusted her to SAFE so we could get her the care she desperately needed and help her find an amazing forever home.
Our groomer graciously fit her in for an emergency appointment to remove the painful mats and wash away the dirt, grime, and pungent odor she had been living with. But once we picked her up, we quickly realized her needs were far greater than grooming alone. She had a fever, severe infections in both ears, infections in both eyes, was extremely emaciated, and—believe it or not—she was NOT spayed!!! Can you imagine how this could have ended up 🤦🏻♀️
Needless to say, she is now under the care of our emergency veterinary team and receiving the treatment she needs. Once she is healthy, she will be spayed and we will then be in search of her happily ever after.
In the meantime, we urgently need donations to help cover this sweet girl’s medical care. Any donation, big or small, will make a difference in her recovery and future 🐾

Live Update 💔 We were cleared to pick Keira up tomorrow morning (thats when we could get her into our vet team), they just euthanized her! When we were alerted we offered to go get her tonight, and they declined our offer! We are gutted to say the least! We tried so hard sweet Keira. 🤍 You were loved and your precious life mattered! If you have donated, we can return upon requests or pass on to help the next kid 🙏🏻 So much thanks and gratitude for everybody’s support!
++++++++++
We want to help this kid who is currently at South LA shelter! We NEED pledges in order to do this! This girl is in bad shape and needs out of there now!
Keira was surrendered to the shelter due to Medical. She has a ruptured eardrum, cannot stand, will not eat or drink. She’s suffering from a vestibular episode.
She is not safe until she’s out of the building. We are just asking for pledges, which is a promise to donate if we are able to rescue her tomorrow. She will need emergency medical care.
We need your help! Donations are desperately needed, and graciously accepted 🩵 Please help us to continue our mission to help them 🐾

Who remembers Honey?! This little lady came to us, broken and living in a cage for majority of her life with a bark collar on. She was sad, timid, scared, and had no manners, just a broken and sad kid!
We sent her to the most amazing foster family that poured love and healing into her soul! With that being said, we are ecstatic to announce that Honey’s foster family has made it official and Honey is now forever home and SAFE!
We are beyond grateful and thankful, and so excited for Honey and her happily ever after! 🤍🐩

5/12 PUPDATE… We went out to the property yesterday! Mama was trapped, removed, and rehabilitation has begun. The 2 older/larger puppies were also removed and sent to a boarding facility for their safety. The nine remaining puppies were split up between a couple of other rescues.
+++++++++
This is really happening! We need URGENT HELP to be able to help them! This is going to take a village! (*We are also open to splitting up pups with reputable rescue or two!)
Mama dog with 9 puppies that are 6 weeks old, and 2 other 12/week old pups from another litter were snatched out of the desert by a “rescue”. Unfortunately that rescue is not able to care for them properly. They are all out in the elements!
Originally there were 10 puppies that all ended up in an emergency hospital because they were dehydrated, full of worms, and just not getting the nutrition and care that they needed, and 1 little guy passed. They are all living outside in the elements behind a low fence enclosure in the desert that can easily be access by coyotes.
We have been asked to take them all on! We currently have a spot for Mama. Now what we need in order to say YES, is foster’s for 11 puppies🫣
We have to be able to commit to all, or we cannot do this. This is what would need to happen before we can agree to do this…
✔️A solid committed foster for the 2 older kids (12/week olds). They will need to stay in foster home until we can get them adopted.
✔️3 or 4 separate solid committed fosters to take on 2 or 3 of the the babies. They’re eating on their own. They will need to stay in foster home until they get adopted.
✔️We cover the cost of food, vaccines, vetting, spay/neuter, microchip.
✔️ We will need pledges (A pledge is a promise to donate) from people whom would like to donate if we can rescue and make magic happen! We are talking close to $4k - $5k just for spay/neuters! That’s if nothing goes wrong that’s not including vaccines, microchips, deworming, food, toys, collars, tags, beds, toys, treats, etc…
✔️This is a HUGE undertaking, with a lot of moving parts! Please DO NOT SEND DONATIONS NOW as we have not committed to them yet until we can straighten out the foster situation first.
If you would like to help us help them and foster to save these precious lives please complete an application online here 🙏🏻 https://saferescueteam.org/foster-application/

This kid is SAFE with SAFE Rescue Team 🙌🏻
This little guy was overlooked for weeks at Devore! That is a scary, loud, deadly shelter, then hit the euthanasia list!
One of our volunteers trucked out there today to grab him. He is between two and three years old, and we think he might be a miniature Australian Shepherd, or maybe a Pom and corgi mix? 🤷🏻♀️ But he is definitely tailless 😆 adorable, and sweet as pie!
We are actively be looking for a foster or even a possible adoptor (we will be getting him on schedule for neuter asap).
Foster and Adoption applications available online https://saferescueteam.org/
Thank you to the amazing humans that donated to help this kid so far! So much thanks, love, and genuine gratitude 🤍

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED 🚨
Meet Honey 🐾💛
This sweet little girl desperately needs a safe place to land.
Honey is a ~3-year-old, 18 lb Moyen Poodle who is hypo and non-shedding. Right now, she’s living in a very abusive, chaotic, and unstable environment — and she needs out NOW.
I met her this morning, and she is incredibly sweet. She’s a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. Honey is:
✔️ Kid-friendly
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Potty pad trained
She just needs a calm, loving space where she can feel safe while we work on finding her forever home.
🙏 If you can foster Honey, please apply ASAP:
