When I see articles about debt and credit cards and foreclosures I tend to get a little nervous thinking back to the "global financial crisis", "housing bubble", etc. The Wall Street Journal recently wrote about high credit card debt and how -- although it is nearing record levels -- it doesn't look the same as those bad times when you look under the hood.

Foreclosures are up, but don't panic.

Yes, filings have risen over the past year. But zoom out and look at the full picture.

We're still below historical norms – and nowhere near levels seen around 2008.
This isn't a crash. It's the market returning to normal after foreclosures were artificially low during the pandemic.

And here's something else worth knowing. These are filings. Not all of them will actually turn into completed foreclosures.

Veterans and their families can now schedule free in-county non-medical rides! As transportation needs within our community continue to grow, we've expanded our transportation program to offer flexibility for veterans that will significantly enhance their quality of life.

Eligible non-medical trips may include, but are not limited to, grocery shopping, prescription pickup, employment-related transportation, bill payment, banking, and participation in recreational or senior programs.

To schedule a ride:
1. A passenger must provide a DD Form 214 showing an “Honorable” discharge to LCVS prior to scheduling their first ride.
2. To schedule your ride, call LETS at (517) 546-6600. When you reach a Dispatcher, mention your veteran status.
• Non-medical rides within the county can be scheduled up to one week in advance.
• Rides for medical appointments within a 50-mile radius of the LCVS office can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance of the appointment.
