Help injured wildlife through our Rehab Clinic, join Camp Wonder, attend our educational programs, explore the Ambassador Trail, visit Wild Wonders and enjoy zip lining, high ropes, & climbing. For 50 years, the Howell Nature Center has provided a comprehensive education, recreation, and wildlife facility to individuals and groups from all over the Midwest. Situated on 230 acres between Howell and Pinckney, offerings include retreat and meeting facilities, summer camps, wildlife rehabilitation, and education programs, a wildlife habitat park, team building, high-adventure challenge programs, Heifer Global Village, overnight group accommodations, and special events. The Howell Nature Center is a non-profit organization funded primarily through programs, private donations, and special events.

✨Meet the Turtles✨
For this weeks ambassador highlight we would love to showcase our turtle friends! As the temperatures start to get colder we will slowly start to move our turtles into their inside spaces for the winter! Rocksteady is still out in the park, so make sure you stop by before she moves inside!

Get ready for a HOWLing good time! Dress up your little critter and join us for a
festive Halloween celebration at the wildlife park. Enjoy a hayride, trick-or-treat
stations, fresh c***r and donuts, and wildlife animal presentations at Critter Corner.
Kids can also participate in Halloween activities and play in Alexandria’s Nature
Scape.
Admission Prices:
General Admission: $10 adults (18+), $15 children (2-17)
Members Admission: $7 adults (18+), $12 children (2-17)
Infants 1 year and under are free

Happy Wacky Wednesday! Brought to you by our gray foxes Zorro and Latka
🦊Did you know that gray foxes are tree climbers? In fact, they are one of two canine species capable of climbing trees. They primarily live in tree canopies to escape predators, hunt, rest safely, and raise their young.
🦊They have a distinct tail; it has a black stripe that runs down the entire top of the tail and ends in a solid black tip.
🦊Gray foxes are primarily nocturnal and do most of their activities at night. They have elliptical, vertical-slit pupils similar to a domestic cat, rather than round pupils like most dogs.

The first Monday of every month our wildlife educators have worked hard to make age appropriate programs covering a wide variety of nature based topics!
Our next class is on October 5th and we still have space available for many of our age groups!

Trivia Tuesday!

The answer to the last trivia question: What do you call an animal that lives mostly in the trees? It was arboreal. For an animal, this means eating, sleeping, and raising its young in the trees. Some arboreal species in Michigan are flying squirrels, gray foxes, fishers, gray tree frogs, and more!
