Low-fat Buddha Bowls 10/29/2024

Hi everyone! I wrote a new recipe book showing 15 low-fat bowls. Check it out:

Low-fat Buddha Bowls This is my book of 15 delicious bowls that I have made over the last few years. These bowls are oil free, low-fat and easy to make. These bowls are perfect for busy families or busy nights!

I made these 3 ingredient bagels the other day and I was surprised at how they came out. I made these because I was going out with my vegan friends to Cameo Love Market, a cafe in Asbury that has amazing offerings that had vegan cream cheese but no gluten free bagels (they are working to find the perfect one) I didn’t want to feel left out so I made these!

Now, they do have a whitish cast to them because I used cassava flour. But, they tasted great with some vegan cream cheese!

I used:

1 container of Harmless Harvest Greek yogurt
1 1/2 cup Otto’s Naturals cassava flour
About 1/2 water or a little more
Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel seasoning

I put the flour and yogurt into a bowl and it still didn’t mix well. Last time I made gluten free mini bagels for instagram and the yogurt and four made a dough. But, the cassava flour is different. So, I thought, “I will add some water and see what happens!” It made a dough, added some Trader Joe’s seasoning and I baked it and it came out fine!

Baked at 400 degrees for about 20-30 minutes and flip halfway

Were these perfect? Nope, but they cut well the next day and they tasted great with vegan cream cheese!

This isn’t a sponsored post. I just was so happy that my bagels and vegan cream cheese turned out so well.

If you are starting a low fat diet like the Starch Solution, then you need to know the essentials you will need. Here is a list that I made up! You can substitute something similar if you don’t have a certain item.

Low Fat Diet/Starch Solution Essentials

🍽️ Air Fryer: You don’t need you, but you will want one! You can easily substitute an air fryer with your oven, but an air fryer will cook faster. I use my air fryer mostly to make oil free fries.

🍽️ Instant Pot: You can use your stove top and a pot to substitute but I love to use my instant pot! I use it regular to steam potatoes and make perfect rice. I also use it often to mark quick soup or a bean dish.

🍽️ Veggies: Vegetables are essential on a low fat diet. They make you feel more full and allow you to eat less calories and more volume. You can buy frozen veggies for quick meals.

🍽️ Fruit: Fruit is essential to any way of eating. Fruit sugar is different than table sugar and fruit is packed with fiber as well. Definitely snack on fruit!

🍽️ Healthy Snacks: You can always grab a piece of fruit or make some oat bars or baked oatmeal as a snack.

🍽️ Potatoes: These will help you lose the most weight out of all the starches. Potatoes are about 100 calories and full of water to help you stay full. Try bringing steamed potatoes with you for a snack.

🍽️ Walking: You don’t need high intensity exercise, but a simple walk daily will help you increase oxygen and relieve stress.

🍽️ Sauces: Sauces, seasonings and dressings are essential because sometimes our food needs a little more flavor!
