Birddog Flower Farm

The temps are showing a low of 40 tonight, which means hopefully no frost but we aren’t counting on it. We will have flowers at the stand all week since we picked today just in case! If we make to without frost tonight we expect at least another week of blooms! Now we wait and see.

Open today fill 7. Looking to escape the hustle of this weekend? Stop by and pick your own dahlias bouquet to take home with you, it comes with water, and a cup that fits in your cup holder! Whether you’re a local or a visitor, we’ve got a quiet corner away from the hustle.

Are we normally open on Tuesdays? Nope. But this weekend was cold and wet and not enough flowers made it into the world! Drop by today for a beautiful day of upick or to pick up some pre cut flowers from the stand.

I’ve seen a lot of growers offering fall tuber sales, which made me think about if I should offer one. And it came down to a few points.

Why I don’t offer a fall tuber sale:
-They are still in the ground thinking about what they have done,
-I don’t like to count my tubers before they hatch.
-If anything goes wrong, refunds and cancellations are annoying.
-My brain is still in flower mode.

Here is the tuber sale plan
Winter Sale - Opens in November, heat pack shipping/local pick up in December
Spring Sale - Opens in January, shipping/local pick up in April

Open before the sun was up today, I am on my way to New Orleans this morning for a work trip. Flowers available today till we sell out! Upick open all day.

You can find us at the Spicers Winery harvest festival in Hartland today and tomorrow! Drop by for some dahlias straight from the field!
