When you get on a plane, you expect turbulence. Sometimes you feel it, sometimes you don’t. Either way, you never demand the pilot land the plane so you can get off.

Investing in the market is the same. You should expect turbulence—it’s called volatility. The market goes up and down all day, every day. Sometimes you feel it, sometimes you don’t.

But if you're more than five years from your financial destination, don’t convince yourself—or let anyone else convince you—to land your financial plan(e) prematurely.
