It’s official!

Slowly working my way through these sculptures. I’ve never done a fluid form the way I am doing with this and I am having to figure out how to get the angled end grain to adhere properly. I’m connecting them with screws and glue and once the glue sets I remove the screw and knock a dowel through the hole. I’m hoping that the dowel adds the necessary strength. If anyone has some good suggestions please let me know.

I hope you enjoy this video of me making headway with this kiaat sculpture. It’s way off from furniture making but I do have a fine art degree and it’s good to put that to use sometimes.

All the work in this video ended up being useless but sometimes you have to take a few steps backwards in order to proceed forwards. Sculpting things I’m not used to is resulting in a fair amount of testing until I get things right.
