Ready to start next week? 30-40 hrs/wk. Seeking reliable handyman with 10 years minimum experience; a person that is a "jack of all trades". We need a problem solver! Successful person in this role is independent and works well with tight deadlines... a detail-oriented person that takes pride in their work. This person will be responsible for punchlist items to close out jobs and put the finishing touches on single family home rehabilitation jobs.

Required skills: hang drywall, drywall tape, float, texture, drywall patches, paint, paint trim, caulking (windows, tile, fixtures, etc), basic framing (opening in ceiling for attic stairs), basic electric (install outlets, ceiling fans, GFI, etc), basic plumbing (snake drains, replace toilets, connect p-traps, etc), demolition (kitchens, remove floor tile, remove tub, shower tile), cleaning, install interior and exterior doors, weatherstripping, floating floor installation, baseboard removal and painting, basic appliance detach and install, basic carpentry, landscaping, etc

Must have reliable transportation and be capable of using a smartphone (take photos and text message). Must have your own tools.

Education: High school Diploma. Basic understanding of all construction components including hvac, roofing, electrical and plumbing systems.

Bonus: Applicants with any verifiable trade licenses, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificates, asbestos or lead-based paint renovation experience, college degree, bilingual, great attitude!

No hype weather update...

We’re still watching for the potential of heavy rainfall beginning late tonight, through most of Labor Day; and then the eventual movement of what is likely to become Tropical Storm Gordon into the Gulf of Mexico later this week. While things can change, at this point we don’t anticipate anything too extreme for southeast Texas. This isn’t Harvey. It isn’t Allison. Most likely it’s just some heavy, tropical rains that the region can handle. If our thinking changes, we will most certainly let you know.
