This past Saturday, I had the joy of playing a wedding. It was the first time I witnessed the couple both receive the Sacrament of Confirmation immediately prior to the vows. Very cool. 💖

"But nobody knows Latin anymore!" How do we reconcile this with the U.S. Bishops' appeal: "To the greatest extent possible and applicable, singers and choir directors are encouraged to deepen their familiarity with the Latin language.” (Sing to the Lord, 63,) ?
I have arranged this hymn for use within choir rehearsals so that singers may be able to more easily learn basic Latin words used within the Mass. Feel free to use this with your singers! Perhaps more to come - thoughts?

If you're familiar with Planck units, I'm now coining THREE NEW MUSICAL TERMS:

Planck Note
It's the shortest possible rhythm equal to one unit of Planck Time.

Planck Key
The highest pitch achievable from a string one unit in Planck Length.

Planck Violin
The universe's smallest violin built of one unit of Planck Mass.

I guess it's time to abandon the old internet handle I created when I was a teenager: Punkorganist. I created it because I was tired of the elite snobbery found in my profession. Not only did pretentiousness fail to impress me then (and still fails to do so), it just looks deplorable and detracts from my value of the artist's art.

If anyone has issue with my rejection of elitism, well then, you just have common taste. 😉
