Welcome to our Realtor Spotlight! Meet Samantha Hillery – Motus Real Estate

How long have you been in real estate and what got you into it?
I have been in real estate for almost 9 years. I have family members in Mid-Michigan who are in real estate, and I’ve always loved homes, design, and helping people. When I was transitioning out of publication sales, I was looking for a career where I could combine relationship-building, marketing, creativity, and serving others in a more meaningful way. Real estate felt like the perfect fit, and I’ve never looked back.

What do you love most about helping people buy or sell homes?
What I love most is being part of such an important milestone in people’s lives. Buying or selling a home is emotional and deeply personal, and I truly enjoy helping clients feel confident, supported, and cared for throughout the process. I especially love helping first-time buyers and families create stability and build wealth through homeownership.

How long have you been a part of WCR?
6 years

What has been your favorite WCR event?
The Holiday Party and Monte Carlo at Moceri

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
People are often surprised to learn that I grew up in a very small town in Northern Michigan with only one stoplight and that I worked on the grounds crew of The Bear in Traverse City-where I learned how to flymo

Let’s get to know him a little better:

How did you get started in your career? 22 years, as you can tell by my NMLS # a LONG time! I got into the business back in 2004 when a friend of mine thought it would be a great opportunity for me.

What do you love most about helping your clients? The interaction with all parties involved, from clients, to agents, to title, to processing. It truly does take a village to work together as a team.

How long have you been part of Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR)? Since day 1 at when I started at MSGCU. I used to go to events as well when I was at Citizens Bank.

Do you have a favorite WCR event so far? I loved the Corn Hole tournament we had at White Star movers, maybe because I won it

Can you give us a quick snapshot of what you do? Working for a credit union allows me to think outside the box and have unique loan products for the unique clientele to fit most needs with low rates and fees

What sets you apart from others in your space? My ability to treat everyone like family while delivering exceptional, professional, white glove service.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you? I had my first son at 39 and my second son at 41.
