If you ever wondered, “do designers ever get excited when they see someone wearing their pieces?” Last night I saw this wonderful woman walking into a party wearing one of my last custom designs and literally shrieked and almost bulldozed her husband running over to her. It was such an unexpected surprise that meant the world to me. After losing the joy of 319 this year, this was a wonderful reminder of the feelings I once had. Every picture of my clients final look sent to me, every post on Instagram or Facebook, walking somewhere and seeing someone, anyone wearing my design, brought me so much joy. I don’t know about other big names designers, but I really did care when I saw that my pieces were worn.

Thanks to the potential decision to overturn Roe v Wade I have brought out the Uterus embroidered pocket tee. Proceeds from the sales of this tee will go towards access to abortions for women and girls across the country.

Hand embroidered with love and rage

I chose to have my company open during Womens History Month for several reasons, but one of which is I have consciously chosen to work with women owned businesses since it’s conception. Women owned manufacturers, women web designers, women marketers, women owned brands and women artists. Women are amazing, strong capable and I support and cheer on all the amazing women breaking barriers, living their dreams, and trying to make the world better for other women. The Elizabeth Dress in Avocado green is probably my favorite design I’ve created. And I’m so incredibly honored and humbled to have an amazing artist paint it. Thank you for being a friend, a supporter of women, and a beautiful artist. The world is better because of women like you 🤍

Yesterday was the three year anniversary of my company. I would normally be celebrating and posting and thanking all who supported me. But it was the 6th day of a war that I have a personal connection to and I chose not to post. My collection was created for traveling. For women of all ages, backgrounds and lifestyles to feel free and beautiful. I have worn 319 pieces all over the world, spoken with women all over the world about what they want in their garments, and taken their needs into account for my next collection. Please join me in praying for peace in Ukraine. And follow along as I work with friends on how to help the women and children displaced and destroyed by this atrocious war.

I had a dream in 2017. To start my own clothing line. To design for women who looked like me. Who lived their lives. I wanted to know them and for them to know me. Eventually I wanted to have my own boutique. That I would go to every day with my best friend and love of my life Fendi Marie. I dreamt of her little bed by my desk, or of her sleeping on the sofa meant for the clients. She was going to be a familiar and calming presence for me and anyone who came in to shop. I started my clothing line in 2019, and Fendi has been there for sewing production, photo shoots, videos, trunk shows. But sadly she will not be there anymore. Fendi Marie died and my world stopped. Please be patient as I try to navigate my dream and my future without her.
