Fall is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited. 🍂

As the days get shorter and the holidays start creeping onto the calendar, there’s something especially nice about gathering around a table with good food, family, and friends.

This dining room from one of our Highland Village projects feels ready for all of it. A rich green ceiling, patterned walls, sculptural lighting, and custom dining chairs give the room plenty of personality without taking away from what it’s really meant for: gathering.

Almost 20 years ago, I started with a little boutique on Westheimer and a love for design that began long before I knew it could be a career. ✨

Today, that love has grown into Laura U Design Collective. We're now a team of 17 incredible women, hundreds of homes, and a philosophy that's never changed: everything we do, we do for the love of home.

I'm also the co-founder of DesignDash, a mom of two, and wife to my biggest supporter, and every bit of this journey has been for them too.

Here's to the past (almost) 20 years, and to everything still ahead. 🥂

Sharing a few different angles of the living area from one of our newest projects in Hedwig Village.

Designed for a client who loves to host, this space was created with gathering in mind. Sculptural furnishings, warm brass accents, tailored drapery, and a mix of patterned textiles give the room plenty of character, while twin cocktail tables add a classic element alongside the more sculptural forms.

The result is a space that feels collected and personal, with plenty of room to bring people together.

A serene retreat with just the right amount of texture and contrast.

The client’s love of rich jewel tones can be felt throughout the home, and this primary bedroom brings that sensibility in through layered color, an ivory lattice wallpaper, and warm, inviting details. An upholstered canopy bed and alabaster pendants complete the space, creating a retreat that feels refined, personal, and effortlessly comfortable.

Moody, tailored, and quietly dramatic 👀

A deep, earthy palette sets the tone in this home office, where a sculptural chandelier, graphic floor-to-ceiling drapery, and warm wood details create a space with plenty of character. A custom desk with a cantilevered edge was designed to accommodate the homeowner’s height, while a fireplace and comfortable seating make the office feel as inviting as it is considered.

A formal living space shaped by a worldly perspective and a love of entertaining.

Having lived in both France and Damascus, the homeowners brought a sophisticated, well-traveled point of view to the design. Rich walnut millwork, sculptural furnishings and layered details create a space that feels elevated, personal and inviting.

A home designed to feel as collected as the people who live in it.

A bar that knows when to disappear. ✨

Designed with custom millwork and pocket drawers that conceal the bar when it’s not in use, this upstairs space is equal parts beautiful and functional. LED tape lighting, panel-front cabinetry, and a concealed under-counter fridge keep everything tucked away while maintaining the timeless feel of this transitional English manor.

Boots on the ground in Fredericksburg!

We met with our builders to walk the guest house ahead of installation, review materials and stain samples, before checking progress on the main house.
Every detail, seen in person.

This is our client's second home, deep in the heart of Hill Country made for gatherings, hosting, and family.

Doing it all for the love of home 🤍
