PHA connects and works together with the entire PH community of patients, families and medical professionals. raise awareness and funds in support of the PHA mission through cause-related special events and major gifts. For 12 consecutive years, PHA has received the highest rating — four stars — for fiscal accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator, placing it in the top half of one percent of all rated charities.
You may have read about the recent changes with our chapter restructuring. All future events will be managed by the central development team out of our office in Silver Spring, MD. Awareness for people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), a rare and debilitating disease, is a matter of life or death. In PH, arteries in the lungs can become damaged, narrow or stiff, putting pressure on the right side of the heart. Because common symptoms of PH (shortness of breath, fatigue and chest pain) are often misdiagnosed, a proper diagnosis and treatment is often delayed, costing patients valuable time. With early diagnosis, proper treatment can extend and improve PH patients’ quality of life.

The 3rd Annual Take a Swing at PH golf tournament on Oct. 19th was a success for the PHA Lone Star Chapter! This event raised over $51,000 to support PHA and its mission to one day find a cure for . Thank you all of our golfers, , caregivers, and supporters coming out to volunteer for the day!
