The Houston Office of Preservation is working with the Norhill neighborhood to develop a set of historic design guidelines. The Department is hosting a meeting to discuss the final draft of the guidelines with property owners in the district. TxDOT will hold a public meeting on the I-45 North Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP) on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Fifth Ward Multi-service Center, 4014 Market St.

The 75th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade is here! The parade will take place on Thursday, November 28 at 9 AM in downtown Houston. All surrounding streets will close as soon as 6 AM on Thanksgiving Day and re-open by 3 PM the same day. Make sure to check weather conditions before you head out. Have fun and be safe!

Existing Montrose bikeway renamed in honor of Pat Walsh An existing, high-comfort bikeway along Woodhead Street in Montrose will officially be renamed the Pat Walsh Memorial Bikeway after city council members unanimously approved the resolution, Nov. 20.


Park Eight Place, Houston’s first developer-initiated ‘Walkable Place,’ will transform Westchase Houston’s City Council has approved Walkable Places and Special Parking Area designations for Park Eight Place. With safer streetscapes and reduced parking requirements, Park Eight Place aims to create a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly hub.
