We chased this herring down the river and then back. It finally changed direction and the chase was over.
Thankfully it started out a little cool.
We got a late start but we had a nice hike. So much to this on this 260 acre park that’s below the Belton dam next to the Leon River.
We got to Marion Samson Park while it was still quiet and cool, with fog hanging over limiting our views. It gave the park a peaceful, almost cinematic feel. Even though you’re still in Fort Worth, it really feels like you’ve stepped away from the city.
One of the best parts of The River place nature trails is the creek that runs alongside much of the trail. You can hear the water flowing for a large portion of the hike, which adds a peaceful contrast to the steep climbs.
We love hiking the Ft Worth area.
