New Class Alert: Woodworking II!

In this class, students will learn joinery skills such as dovetails, dados, and dowels. There will be a focus on dovetail joinery and learning different types of dovetails and different ways to cut them. Students will learn and practice this as they build a wood serving tray from exotic wood in festive fall colors.

The Techne Gallery cordially invites you to our Closing Night for Christian Le’s “Folding Screens” exhibition on Friday, September 25th. The event will commence at 6 PM and continue until 9 PM.

This special Gathering will be held inside the Gallery, under the glow of the full moon, marking the celebration of the Mid Autumn Festival. We will be delighted to offer moon cakes tasting, the pouring of various teas, and a free Lantern Making workshop, all while supplies last.

To enhance the experience, we encourage you to dress up in your fashionable national costumes. Your presence will make this event truly memorable.

After the most recent rain storm the lab flooded. A crew is working to fix the loading dock drain situation. You can now enter the lab through the Maker Hub lobby.

TXRX Labs will be closed July 3-4 in observance of Independence Day.

Be sure to finish all of your America 250 celebration projects before then! We'll reopen with regular hours on July 5.

Join us on June 12 for the opening of Folding Screens, a new exhibition by TXRX Labs Craft & Maker Resident Christian Le.

Drawing inspiration from Vietnamese cultural traditions and contemporary q***r identity, Christian uses screen printing, gold foil techniques, and custom textile design to create fashion pieces that bridge heritage and modern expression. From reimagined traditional garments to avant-garde runway-inspired looks, the exhibition explores what happens when historical craftsmanship meets new technology.

As part of his residency, Christian expanded his practice through screen printing, laser cutting, and digital design classes at TXRX Labs, developing the custom fabrics, sewing patterns, and brooches featured in the show.

Christian Le is TXRX Labs new Craft & Maker Resident in this screen printing fashion design residency!

Utilizing a screen printing gold foil technique, Le creates custom fabric patterns that blend traditional Vietnamese elements with avant-garde style through learned manual screen printing techniques.
