This role supports multifamily, affordable housing, senior housing, workforce housing, market-rate, and related construction projects from early conceptual pricing through final bid review and turnover to Operations.

• Preparing estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Coordinating with subcontractors and vendors
• Developing scope sheets and pricing summaries
• Supporting budgeting, value engineering, and preconstruction planning
• Identifying project risks, scope gaps, and constructability concerns
• Assisting with project phasing and site logistics

The ideal candidate should have strong estimating knowledge, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience with multifamily or commercial construction estimating is strongly preferred.

Exciting progress is taking shape at the Knowles-Rowland supportive housing project in Houston, with plans to open this summer! 🏗️

Block Companies' project team is currently finalizing utility connections, inspections, and closeout activities as the development moves closer to completion and turnover.

The former Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth will soon serve as permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, providing 31 housing units, including 16 with accessibility features for residents with mobility or sensory impairments. Residents will also have access to services such as mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, case management, life skills training, and nutrition assistance that support long-term stability and independence.

We’re looking forward to seeing this project reach the finish line and make a meaningful impact for individuals and families across the Houston community. 💙

One Westside Phase 1A & 1B will deliver 230 apartment homes as part of the City’s larger revitalization effort focused on expanding quality housing and supporting long-term growth in Chattanooga’s Westside neighborhood. Another exciting project is getting underway for Block Companies in Denham Springs, Louisiana! 🚧

Our team will be handling site development work for a new retail site that will include a future Target store along with additional tenant spaces to come. Scope of work includes site clearing across 33 acres, mass grading and earthwork, site utilities, building pads, paving, concrete work, irrigation, and landscaping.
