My confidence hit the lowest point I’ve ever experienced from August to December last year. Peak postpartum. I felt every angle of insecurity and I felt it intimately.

I remember flying to Nashville in November with and completely unraveled on the plane. That night, we were laying in bed (because we sleep together when we’re out of town 😂) and she prayed for God to intercede. This was the tipping point.

There was a lot going on in my personal life that was awful to navigate bc my hormones were psychotic and every time I looked at my body, I felt so ugly. And dang, that feels so good to say without trying to make it politically correct.

Because it’s true.

I just dropped a baby and I’m 65+ pounds heavier than what I’m used to, I’m not thinking about nobody’s grace. I’m thinking about survival.

I had to dig down to the deepest parts of me to reach a confidence that’s been there since I was little.

The confidence my mom put there. All the times she told me I was the best, how I was “a cut above”, that I could do anything. And slowly, over the next couple months, the strength I’m familiar with started to show its face.

I’m really proud of myself. Not just for what I did with my body, but the layer underneath that. I had to overcome hell to get here. Grateful for that night with Sam and the gift my mom repeatedly gave me 30 years ago was.

I am that girl. And if I ever forget that again, I know how to find her.

A couple months before I sold my first business, 3 people put in their 2 weeks.

No one knew about the sale yet.

The current owner (Danielle) asked if I would get on a call with her to check in on another team member.

After about 7 minutes of:
“Yeah, I just don’t know anymore”
“I don’t feel good about any of this”

She says, “I don't feel comfortable recruiting when I know that so many people just quit”

And I thought eeeffffffffffff this. Hhheeelllllssss no.

Was it warranted? I mean…. if this place was built *for* mediocrity or *on* mediocrity.

It most def was not.

Stuff gets hard sometimes. Excruciating even.

We build with people who have resilience in their DNA. They know hard, and they don't let it manipulate their mind.

The ones who bail when things burn to the ground, they are not for us.

Most people talk about it, but spend infinite amounts of time planning, but you jumped in headfirst.

If you're building alone, shoot your shot. DM at least 5 women you look up to and share something that would be valuable to them.

And do it often. Eventually, reciprocity kicks in, and they'll do the same for you.
