Here on my last day as State Representative, I want to say thank you to the constituents in HD 133 for electing me and allowing me to serve.

We accomplished a lot over these seven terms but more importantly, I learned a lot from my constituents about people, politics and priorities.

It was a real pleasure for Kathleen and me to get to know so many of our neighbors — through dozens and dozens of events over the years and thousands of campaign visits to people’s homes.

This is a special district. My family moved there in 1963 and it’s been our home since then.

It is indeed in good hands with Mano DeAyala For State Rep. He and his wife, Melissa have deep roots here and a wonderful family.

I encourage you to ensure that he knows your goals and concerns and to work with him to keep the Lone Star shining brightly. You deserve the very best.

And thank you to his wife, Melissa for grabbing these pictures. This outstanding couple will serve our community well. Additionally, a big thank you to the students at St. John Paul II Catholic School - Houston for decorating the district ornament this year. It turned out great!

We got together for our reunion with Team Murphy members from our entire tenure in the legislature. It was a great opportunity to thank them for their incredible service and results for the people of Texas and District 133.

The past members of Team Murphy have moved onto great accomplishments with their families and other organizations. They will have a positive impact for Texas for many years to come.

Happy Veteran’s Day, especially to our very own staffer, Josh Turner. Josh served in the US Army for just under 15 years as a Persian Farsi and Afghan Dari Cryptologic Language Analyst. We are proud to have him as a part of Team Murphy. To all the military members, both past and present, thank you for your service and bravery.
