In the Learn something new category, saw this on a tree. It is a Cottonwood beetle. Was not familiar with it because most cities outlawed Cottonwood trees back in the 70's because they were ruining A/C units. It is a very large beetle that bores into the tree.

In the Spring has Spung catagory, this swarm of bees showed up on a tree trunk. Pretty much harmless, just resting while looking for a new place to make home.
