The H.E.A.R.T. Program is so grateful for CenterPoint Energy's investment in our Vending and Concessions Program, which supports our daily efforts offering work to trainees as well as assisting with the purchase of new vending machines to ensure that this program is self-sustaining for years to come!

H.E.A.R.T. had a wonderful time today celebrating the graduation of our HISD Transition Program students at Houston Food Bank. Congratulations to each of the graduates, and many thanks to all of the parents, teachers, specialists, partners and administrators who made this amazing moment possible for our students!

It was also a bittersweet moment for H.E.A.R.T. as we say goodbye to Amy and welcome Aylin as a permanent member of the H.E.A.R.T. Team at Houston Food Bank.

The Goal is in the H.E.A.R.T. Luncheon was a huge success. Over 350 attendees joined the sold out event to celebrate H.E.A.R.T.'s 20th Anniversary of serving individuals with intellectual disabilities. We are deeply thankful to our co-chairs Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock and Tasmina D. Lakhani, Houston Real Estate Agent as well as all of our sponsors and supporters who make our mission possible. Congratulations to our distinguished honorees Juan and Isela Garcia. We also honored eight trainees with MVP awards for their outstanding work throughout the year. Our executive director, Janet Deleon Young expressed, “Seeing this room filled with friends, supporters and community leaders reminds us that our mission is never carried alone. A heartfelt thank you to each one of you. Today’s luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate what we have accomplished together and to renew our shared commitment to creating meaningful impact.” Other luncheon highlights included a recognition to H.E.A.R.T’s founder, Jane Borochoff and The Borochoff family for their many years of service, a check presentation from CenterPoint Energy to support our Vending program, a proclamation from the Office of Commissioner Lesley Briones, Precinct 4 and remarks from Mayor John Whitmire. What a memorable event for H.E.A.R.T.!
