A true friend may sometimes say or do things that hurt in the moment (like offering correction, honesty, or tough love), but those “wounds” come from a place of care. Meanwhile, an enemy’s flattery or “kisses” may feel good, but they are false and harmful in the long run.

This verse offers comfort and strength, especially during times of uncertainty, by affirming that God’s guidance is without error and His promises are dependable.
