October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In 2024 over 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. It's important to remember to schedule your annual Mammograms on time. Early detection of breast cancer increases survival rate. If your 40 or over and have not scheduled your annual mammogram contact your provider to get one scheduled. If you're younger than 40 and your symptoms/risk put you at a greater risk of developing breast cancer please reach out to your Doctor to discuss further steps. Cancer unfortunately affects all ages, but together we can take the steps to diagnosing early.

With the school year starting we wanted to make sure you remind your little ones about the importance of hygiene. These simple tips can keep your children and other kids safe from harmful viruses that the beginning of the school year brings. August is Gastroparesis Awareness month.
In honor of our little fighter Alayna (Brittany's Daughter) we wanted to make sure we did our part in raising Awareness.
Did you know that Gastroparesis can actually occur due to things like Diabetes, Surgical Procedures or even more recently discovered that some of our most common weight loss medications can cause it. If caught early medication and dietary changes can be made to stop the progression of nerve/muscle paralysis of the stomach. Prevention is key to managing your health, make sure you are up to date on your physical and discuss even the smallest symptoms with your provider.

At Veda Health we love our patients and their furry family. We have discussed before the signs of heat stroke in humans, but did you know that animals are also at risk for heat stroke? Here is some helpful information on how you can keep your pets cool and safe during this hot Texas summer!
