Two people were killed in a shooting Sunday morning at the Saxon Pond Flats apartment complex, located at 2953 FM-2920 in the Spring area, according to Harris County Precinct 4 deputies.
Authorities confirmed a Hispanic male and a Hispanic female were pronounced deceased at the scene. Two people have been detained as investigators continue working to determine exactly what led up to the deadly incident.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has now taken over the investigation. A heavy law enforcement presence remains in the area while detectives process the scene and gather evidence.

Earlier today, a lightning strike reportedly sparked a fire in the Towne Lake subdivision near Cornerstone Arbor Dr during severe storms moving through the Houston area.
Cy-Fair Fire Department crews quickly responded and worked to bring the fire under control. Emergency personnel remained on scene for an extended time as crews monitored for hotspots and ensured the area was safe.
No injuries have been reported at this time. Residents were asked to avoid the area while first responders handled the incident.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office officials say deputies responded around 4:20 p.m. to reports of an active shooter situation in the Kings Colony neighborhood on Nottingham Rd in New Caney.
Authorities say officers arrived within minutes and heard gunfire, triggering a major law enforcement response involving multiple agencies and SWAT teams. About an hour later, a 60-year-old Hispanic male suspect surrendered to SWAT and was taken into custody.
Officials confirmed two people suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. Investigators say multiple other individuals reported being shot at during the incident. Two long guns were also located inside the residence.
Sheriff’s officials believe the incident may have stemmed from a disturbance between neighbors, but detectives are still working to determine exactly what happened. The scene remains secure and investigators continue processing evidence both inside and outside the home.
No law enforcement officers were injured during the response.

UPDATE: Authorities say the suspected shooter is now in custody following the active shooter situation in the Kings Colony neighborhood near Nottingham Rd in New Caney.
Multiple people were reportedly shot during the incident. A large law enforcement presence remains in the area as investigators work the scene and gather more information.
Residents are still encouraged to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
