COR Houston

COR Houston made several large deliveries for students this week as we near the end of the HISD school year.

CORHouston is grateful to have received a generous grant from the Houston Junior Forum, to be used to purchase underwear, clothing, hygiene and cleaning supplies, food, beds and bedding, and backpacks for economically disadvantaged HISD students.

30.1% of children in Houston are living below the federal poverty level.

COR Houston is thrilled to receive this generous grant from The Children's Fund, funding a part-time Purchasing and Warehouse Manager to help us increase deliveries to HISD students/families in need.

Some recent deliveries to HISD Title I schools.

On Tuesday, volunteers from Dominican Family assembled large numbers of cleaning supply packs, pantry staple and easy meal food packs, and individual hygiene packs. We are so grateful for these organizations that regularly volunteer to help COR as needed.

According to the Kinder Institute for Urban Research, 39% of Houston and Harris County households are food insecure, significantly exceeding the national average of 14%.

It's college pack season! We've delivered hundreds so far to Title I High Schools.

Yale Women Houston joined us on Saturday to assemble over 150 food packs, plus cleaning supply packs, individual underwear packs, and additional college packs for graduating seniors. Thank you for all your help!!!
