PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Kickapoo Reservation is experiencing severe flooding as a result of heavy rain. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING AND DO NOT TRAVEL UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY IF YOU ARE IN A FLOODED AREA. If the road is flooded, do not cross standing water.

Departments are working to assess the situation and updates will be released as they become available.

There is a chance of rain Saturday and Sunday (see picture). If you experience extreme flooding, find high ground and immediately call 9-1-1.

All the ingredients for intense severe storms will be in place by this afternoon across much of the area. Expect initial storms to quickly turn severe. Destructive hail and intense Tornadoes possible early, then Damaging wind and flooding become the focus. Remain weather aware and take safety measures if needed.
