Just 1 week after Alpha’s medical scare and he’s already back on the job! It’s so fun to hangout at stations and watch Alpha do his work. It brings out laughter, jokes and a little distraction from the shift. This is what it’s all about, dogs helping people who help people ❤️💙

This is a match that means so much to us in so many ways — Helios has officially gone home with his person, Kelly Hoffman!
Kelly served his community as a firefighter/paramedic and Captain in Palm Beach County, dedicating his career to showing up for others on some of their hardest days.
Helios will continue his journey alongside Kelly providing support, independence, companionship, and a steady presence through whatever comes next. This is exactly why Secret Keepers Service Dogs exists: to give back to the first responders and military members who have spent so much of their lives serving everyone else.
Watching these two come together has been incredibly special, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where their journey takes them.
To Helios, buddy, you’ve got an important job now. Take good care of your person.
And to Kelly, you’ve always been part of our fire family but welcome to our Secret Keepers family. We are honored to be a small part of your story.
Another dog. Another partnership. Another reminder of why we do what we do: So no one has to keep their secrets alone.

GUESS WHO’S ON HIS WAY HOME!!!
I could not be happier to report Alpha is on his way home ❤️❤️ sweet buddy is gonna take a few days to rest up at home but don’t worry he’ll be out and about soon!
The amount of love and support we’ve received is overwhelming, there’s no way we could ever thank everyone enough. We want Secret Keepers to be a community and we really got to see that being built during this time. THANK YOU a million times 🙏🙏

Another Alpha update:
Unfortunately Alpha didn’t get to come home today like we hoped 😔
His diarrhea is still not under control and since dehydration can happen so quickly, we decided it’s best for him to stay another night to have more fluids. He did eat a little better today, silly boy wanted his boring dry dog food not the chicken and rice they thought he’d enjoy.
I cannot thank the vets and staff that have cared for him, answered all our questions and been so kind and compassionate! And another huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared and prayed. We can’t wait for him to come home. And since I didn’t get to see him today enjoy the cutest Alpha throw back picture to make you smile 😃

Alpha Update:
I talked with the tech this morning, and she said Alpha did really good overnight. He’s bright and alert this morning. The diarrhea has slowed down so they were able to lowered his fluids but he still isn’t eating great. Fun fact that we had no idea about: anaphylactics in people normally targets the respiratory system but in dogs it’s attacks the GI Tract
He’s progressing in the right direct and there’s a possibility he gets to come home today!
THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, shared, reached out and said a prayer for Alpha. We can’t express how much all the support and love means to us. ❤️
Here’s a few pictures from our visit yesterday

On Monday, September 14th, our worst nightmare came true when Alpha suddenly became seriously ill.
After rushing him to the emergency clinic it was discovered he was suffering from a severe anaphylactic reaction. He is currently receiving around-the-clock emergency veterinary care, and although the doctors are optimistic he’s still not out of the woods yet.
Many of you have met Alpha through Secret Keepers Service Dogs. He has visited rehabilitation facilities, firefighters, community events, and organizations throughout our area, bringing comfort, joy, and awareness wherever he goes.
We are doing everything we need to make sure Alpha is getting the best care possible.
If you can’t donate, please share this post and help us spread the word. And please pray for his recovery.
Thank you for loving Alpha, supporting Secret Keepers Service Dogs, and standing beside us during an incredibly difficult time. We will continue to provide updates here as we learn more about Alpha’s condition and his progress. ❤️🩹❤️🩹

September is Su***de Awareness Month.
For those who spend their lives showing up on everyone else’s worst days, asking for help can sometimes be the hardest call to make.
First responders and members of our military are exposed to trauma, loss, stress, and situations most people will never experience. Too often, they carry the weight of those experiences quietly.
At Secret Keepers Service Dogs, we want to help change that. Our mission is to provide specially trained service dogs to first responders and military members—dogs trained to support individuals living with PTSD and help bring independence, confidence, connection, and companionship back into their lives. But our mission goes beyond providing a dog. We want every firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, veteran, and service member to know:
You do not have to be the strong one all the time. You do not have to suffer in silence. You do not have to keep your secrets alone.
Checking on someone matters. Starting the conversation matters. Asking for help matters. And sometimes, four paws can help someone take that first step toward healing.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Alpha’s on duty!
We got to spent some time hanging out with the firefighters at Prattville Fire Department today — getting plenty of attention, making new friends, and reminding us exactly why we’re so excited about this next chapter for Secret Keepers.
This visit is part of our new Critical Incident Response Program, created to bring support directly to the first responders who spend every day showing up for everyone else.
Through this program, our dogs won’t only respond to stations and departments following critical incidents. They’ll also make regular station visits — sometimes just popping in to say hello, spend time with the crew, and provide a little four-legged stress relief.
Because support shouldn’t only show up after the hard calls. Sometimes it looks like a quiet moment in a recliner, a few moments of distraction around the station, or simply having a dog there who asks nothing of you.
We want our first responders to know that Secret Keepers is here on the hard days, the good days, and all the ordinary days in between.
Thank you to Prattville Fire Department for welcoming us into the station today!
