Today was a cool day! Blake, Grant and I headed to Limon, CO to watch the UP 4014 "Big Boy" come from Sharon Springs, KS to Denver today.

Kari’s Uncle (Ed Gerlits) taught the current lead engineer Ed Dickens everything he knew about Steam Locomotives. Ed Dickens is responsible for the Union Pacific Steam Program and restoration of the UP 4014 “Big Boy”. UP 4014 is the world's largest steam locomotive and was completely restored in 2019.

There were only 25 Big Boys made in the 1940’s.

Kari's uncle passed away during the restoration of the 4014 and Ed Dickens carried his ashes on the Big Boys for its inaugural trip after it was restored.

First time seeing the "Big Boy" for us.

This is the iconic "Drive In" run on the Big Horn River in Montana. The cars were placed there by the rancher to protect the banks from erosion back in the late '70's.

University of San University of San Francisco Baseball with a nice 6-3 Win over the Creighton Bluejays Saturday at Charles Schwab field in Omaha, NE. This the "sacred ground" for College Baseball as this is where every college baseball player dreams of being in mid-June.
