Saturday's proceeds from the Lone Tree Oktoberfest support Tall Tales Ranch. We're alwasy grateful for the support from the city we call home!

Bring the whole crew for live music, food trucks, games, dancing and a stein hoisting competition. Guests 21 and older can purchase a b**r tasting package or individual b**rs.

When adults with I/DD have meaningful opportunities to work, volunteer, learn, and participate in their communities, everyone gains something. Employers discover dedicated employees and new perspectives. Neighbors build relationships with people they may not otherwise meet. Businesses become more welcoming and communities become more connected. Inclusion isn’t simply about making space for someone. It’s about recognizing what each person brings to that space.

That’s the kind of community we’re working toward at Tall Tales Ranch: one where adults with I/DD aren’t just present, but are contributing, building relationships, and helping shape the community around them. Because when more people have the opportunity to participate, the whole community is better for it.

Last month marked a milestone we have dreamed about for years: we gathered to commemorate the groundbreaking of our inclusive community.

Our groundbreaking ceremony brought together construction partners, elected officials, community leaders and project stakeholders who have each played an important role in getting us to this point.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to our land and construction partners, including Schweiger Ranch Foundation, Shea Homes, Fiore & Sons, Kimberly Timmons Interiors, Norris Design, and Waner Construction along with the many subcontractors, architects, engineers and volunteers who have contributed their expertise and resources. We are especially grateful to HomeAid Colorado for believing in our vision and recognizing that housing insecurity is a very real concern for individuals with IDD, particularly as their parents and caregivers age. This project truly demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together around a shared vision.

The construction site is quickly turning into visible progress on the property. Fiore & Sons has been moving forward with site development, preparing the land and infrastructure that will support the first phase of Tall Tales Ranch.

There is still work ahead. While construction continues on the residential buildings we continue to raise the funds needed to complete our community event barn and coffee shop as well as future amenities that will make Tall Tales Ranch a truly inclusive community. Sharing these photos again because we won’t soon forget the moment Peter took the stage at the Øuterkindness Concert! It was such a special night and one we’ll remember for a long time.

If you’ve been to a TTR event, you’ve probably seen Tim and Alana somewhere in the mix.

These two have been such an incredible part of TTR over the years as two of our incredible volunteers. They’ll do pretty much anything we ask of them, from helping at events to jumping into projects to filling whatever role we happen to need that day. And they do a LOT.

More than anything, Tim and Alana really care about our ambassadors. They’ve built real friendships with them, celebrate what’s happening in their lives, and show up because they genuinely want to be here.

We could probably write a very long list of everything these two have done for TTR, but we’ll keep it at this: we’re really lucky they found us. TTR is better because Tim and Alana are part of it.

For many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, home is still their family home.

Nationally, 63% of people with IDD who receive long-term supports and services live with family members, while only 10% live in a home of their own. And across the country, nearly one million households include a person with I/DD living with a caregiver over the age of 60.

Those numbers are a big part of why housing is at the heart of the future we’re building at Tall Tales Ranch.

Parents and family members have spent decades providing care, support, transportation, advocacy, and so much more. But as those caregivers age, families are left with a question that can be incredibly difficult to answer: What happens next?

Our future residential community at Tall Tales Ranch will include 28 affordable apartments designed to give adults with I/DD another option. A place where they can have a home of their own while still being part of a connected community, with opportunities for employment, life skills, social connection, and greater independence right outside their door.

There simply aren’t enough housing options for adults with I/DD. We’re working to help change that.
