Being a parent isn’t always easy! It can be stressful, and at times it can test your patience beyond belief. In these tense times, you may find yourself saying things that you might later regret.
How we communicate with our children is very important and has a large impact on how they will communicate with others as well. Try practicing some of these positive parenting phrases in a calm moment. The next time you are in a tense situation, focus on using some of the phrases you practiced, and then work them into your daily interactions with your children.

Why is it important?
Reading allows children to understand various emotions. This helps in their emotional and social development since they learn to associate their feelings with words and find a way to express themselves better. Books showcase various characters and perspectives which allows children to be more empathetic.

Work-life balance
Work-life balance is the relationship between your work and the other important things in your life, like your family, sport and social life, household chores, volunteer commitments and so on. If you feel like you have enough time for all of these things in your life, you probably have a good work-life balance.
And when you have a good work-life balance, you’re more likely to have the mental and emotional energy to give your children the loving attention they need to develop, learn and thrive.
A well-balanced family life can also help you enjoy life, manage stress and prevent burnout at work.

What age is appropriate to introduce screens?
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends avoiding screens for children younger than 18 to 24 months, except when video chatting with family. The AAP also recommends limiting screen use for preschool children, ages 2 to 5, to just one hour a day of high-quality programming.
How might screens impact a child’s sleep?
As humans, our circadian rhythms and our production of melatonin — the sleep hormone — kicks in when the sun sets. But the blue light from screens inhibits melatonin, which can delay sleep. And watching TV or playing games also keeps our brains and bodies more alert and activated and less ready for sleep. (Tablets and smartphones will suppress the melatonin more than TVs because the screen, and that blue light, is closer to the face.) For preteens and teenagers, excessive use of screens late at night will affect their sleep, and keeping screens out of the bedroom is advised. Too much time spent on social media as well as lack of sleep can affect behavior and cognitive performance in school and interfere with learning.
Tips to limit screen time for kids.
1. Co-watch whenever possible.
2. Choose media wisely.
3. Keep bedtime, mealtime, and family time screen-free.
4. Limit your own phone use.
5. Emphasize the big three: sleep, healthy nutrition, and exercise.

Think Twice Before Posting Embarrassing Photos
While you might think your toddler having a tantrum or your tween misbehaving is so hilarious that you have to share it on social media, putting anything online leaves a permanent trail that will follow your kids for the rest of their lives.
Consider The Message You Are Giving Your Kids
As parents, we are constantly telling our kids about the risks of using social media and teaching them about online safety. But, we then ignore our own advice when posting photos of them. “It’s our job to teach and model online literacy and safety,”
Be Mindful of Giving Away Personal Information
Many parents announce the birth of their babies all over social media, while some go one step further and hashtag their kids’ names or even set up Instagram accounts for their little darlings before they can even talk. While it’s kinda cute, all someone needs is a name, date of birth, and address, which they can get using a geotagged photo, and this can put youngsters at risk of identity theft and digital kidnapping.
Be Wary of Revealing Locations and Routines
It’s surprisingly easy to track people by using the information you can get from photos that are posted online. To protect your kids from potentially being discovered by child predators, turning off geotagging and location services and never posting details about where you live, including your address.
