Future softball stars in the making!🥎✨
Sixteen young athletes spent the week at Redstone Park sharpening their skills at a softball camp in partnership with HitStreak. From hitting and throwing, to defense and game strategy, participants built confidence and had lots of fun along the way.

Last week we had the pleasure of celebrating all of the recent improvements at Toepfer Park, 9320 Venneford Ranch Road. Thank you to everyone who joined us! And a special thank you to our partners from Douglas County - Government, Douglas County School District , Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and Highlands Ranch Water.
Planning for the recent improvements began in 2022 when an additional 10 acres of land adjacent to the park was conveyed to the Metro District from the Board of Douglas County Commissioners, in partnership with the Douglas County School District. This expansion allowed us to better serve this popular neighborhood destination with a larger playground, a second picnic shelter, a nature trail, undeveloped native grass areas, expanded parking, a resurfaced basketball court, and more.
Two decades ago, the park was originally dedicated and named in honor of Jim Toepfer, one of the founders of Highlands Ranch. In March, Jim's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gathered to place their handprints in concrete near the park's entrance as a lasting reminder of Jim's legacy.
We also want to recognize Project Play, the senior project of ThunderRidge High School 2025 graduates Katelin Fawcett and Bella Craner. Katelin and Bella raised $7,780 towards accessible equipment at the park. Their project was inspired by Bella's little sister Macy, who is disabled. In May, Katelin and Bella celebrated their contributions with their families, donors and the Metro District.
This park improvement project has been a true community collaboration, and it's wonderful to see kids, families and neighbors enjoying all that Toepfer Park has to offer!
