Dear beloved congregation,

It is my sacred honor to write to you in the promise of Christ's eternal glory shared with us through the Easter joy of our Lord's resurrection. It is that very promise that we cling to as church, and share together with hope and faith when times are ever so difficult. This is one of those times, as I am now able to communicate with you news that is heavy to receive.

Aidan Lambert, the 19 year old son of Jeff and Liz and brother to Evan, died and was forever received into God's merciful care this last Sunday evening. He and a dear friend were riding their motorcycles up into the foothills on Highway 285 to see the sunset. No one other than Aidan was physically injured.

A memorial service for Aidan will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 25, at 10am. Details for a reception will be provided by the family.

Jeff, Liz and Evan are just beginning to grasp how broad their support circle extends and are so grateful for their friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and you - their church - who are all surrounding them with love in these first awful days, and beyond. They welcome your prayers, and your consideration for what would most provide them support at this time. Please continue to hold them in your love.

May our compassionate and faithful God forever keep Aidan in his grace, and continue to bless us all.
