Belong. Connect. Grow. Reflect.

Belong
Belonging starts with feeling at home. Whether you’re just getting connected or have been walking with us for a while, you’re known, valued and supported.

Connect
We connect with God and one another through weekly worship, centered on Christ. As we gather we’re reminded we belong to something greater, together.

Grow
We grow through relationships by walking together in groups, serving alongside each other and joining in community events to build faith and friendship.

Reflect
Faith moves us outward. We reflect God’s love by meeting the needs in our church and community through hands-on service and ministry partnerships.

We are so grateful for this day which has been full of laughter, love, and some very good food!
Thank you to everyone who brought a dish to share and for the lovely gifts to celebrate Jonah and Ally's new baby.

Connections Church is pleased to offer this special event for our community on June 6th from 10am-12pm at Church of the Advent. The Grief Mapping event is an opportunity for the body of Christ to come together and process the emotions associated with grief in a new way through art and music. We will explore how the present day is influenced by loss. Participants will reflect on the people, places, and events that have happened since the loss and discover what emotions of grief may be influencing their present day.

Why should I attend?

This event offers a gentle and accessible way to process grief, especially for those who find it difficult to put their emotions into words. It can be especially helpful for people who feel their thoughts and feelings are jumbled or hard to express, creating space for reflection without the pressure to explain or verbalize everything. Even for those who have not yet experienced a significant loss, learning this process can be meaningful preparation for future seasons of grief and healing, as well as a practical tool to share with others who are walking through loss.

Who is leading this event?

This event is run by Maile Paris through Connections Church. Maile is a current clinical mental health counseling student at Denver Seminary and is pursuing licensure as a Professional Counselor. Having experienced the loss of her father, she developed the process of grief mapping as a therapeutic expression of grief.

Disclaimer

Grief is a complicated process and not one that can be healed or managed quickly. This event has the purpose of teaching a new skill with the hope of bringing clarity to those grieving. We will have prayer ministers, a safe atmosphere and a no pressure environment but it may be difficult for some people due to how sensitive the process of grief can be. We welcome anyone who would like to learn a new way to process and potentially receive some healing. We recommend counseling and continued support through community and fellowship as essential to the grieving process. If you are in need of additional support and prayer please talk with Pastor Rob Byker or Maile Paris and they

What is this event?
This event is an opportunity for the body of Christ to come together and process the emotions associated with grief in a new way through art and music. We will examine how the present day is influenced by loss. Participants will look at the people, places, and events that have happened since the loss and discover what emotions of grief may be influencing their present day.

Who is this event for?
Anyone can come to learn the grief mapping process. Even if there has not yet been a significant loss in someone's life, it can be a valuable tool to learn as it will likely occur one day. However, this will be most valuable to people who struggle to verbalize their grief or feel as though their emotions and thoughts are jumbled. This allows for processing without words or explanation.

Who is running this event?
This event is run by Maile Paris through Connections Church. Maile is a current clinical mental health counseling student at Denver Seminary, seeking to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Having experienced the loss of her father, she developed the process of grief mapping as a therapeutic expression of grief.

When and where is this event?
This event is happening on Wednesday, March 4th from 6-8 pm and will be held at Connections Church: 2121 Dad Clark Drive Highlands Ranch, CO 80126
