Different but same worship
We quickly judge what looks appropriate and mature in worship. Yet our standards are shaped not only by Scripture but also by familiarity, respectability, and the opinions of others.
At a worship service for people with developmental disabilities, I watched one person dance with his whole body while another stood almost motionless with folded hands. Both could be offering sincere worship to God through their own bodies.
We may feel uncomfortable when an adult with a disability dances or sings loudly. We may label the behavior immature or disorderly. We may also move in the opposite direction and romanticize it, saying that people with developmental disabilities worship freely because their souls are especially pure.
Both responses can prevent us from seeing the person as an active worshiper who knows, loves, and responds to God.
The size of an expression cannot measure the size of faith. Energetic movement does not guarantee purity, and a quiet posture does not automatically prove maturity.
Corporate worship needs order. But that order should protect every worshiper and make participation possible. When the comfort of the majority becomes the controlling standard, order can become a language of exclusion.
Worship is not offered through only one kind of body or movement. Expressions differ, but the One who receives our worship is the same.

What If God Does Not Give Us What We Ask?
“Even if he does not” is one of Scripture’s boldest declarations of faith. Yet it can also leave suffering people ashamed of their uncertainty. We may assume that genuine faith never trembles, never questions, and always chooses God without hesitation.
But Daniel 3 is not ultimately about the extraordinary resolve of three men. It is about the God they trusted. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego believed that God was able to rescue them from the furnace. They did not know what God would do, but they knew who God was.
After a 2004 accident left me with a spinal cord injury, I prayed day and night for healing. When healing did not come, I wondered how much more I needed to pray, repent, or believe. Faith gradually became less about trusting God and more about securing the result I wanted.
Eventually, I prayed, “Even if I never walk again, I will follow you.” That was not resignation. I did not abandon hope for healing. Instead, the foundation of my hope moved from healing to God himself.
“Even if he does not” must never become another standard by which we judge suffering people. We may be afraid, discouraged, or unable to make a bold confession. Our hope does not rest in our ability to hold tightly enough to God. Even if he does not, God is good. Even if our faith trembles, God remains faithful. God’s hold on us is stronger than our hold on him.

Freinds,
Who is missing from our church? Even in the earliest Christian community, some people were being overlooked.
Acts 6 tells us that the Hellenistic widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. Luke does not tell us that this neglect was intentional. Yet uncertainty about intent did not make its consequences less serious. People who depended on the church’s care were not receiving it.
The apostles did not dismiss the concern as divisive complaining. They did not defend their intentions or insist on preserving the existing arrangement. Instead, they brought the problem before the whole community. The congregation selected seven people, all of whom bore Greek names, and the apostles entrusted them with genuine responsibility and authority.
The church did more than listen to an overlooked community. It empowered members of that community to lead the response. Churches today must ask more than, “Whom are we helping?” We must also ask, “Who is missing from the way we provide care, cultivate belonging, and share responsibility?”
Good intentions matter, but they do not guarantee that everyone can participate. Listening must lead beyond sympathy to an honest examination of our practices and a willingness to make necessary changes. A mature church is not one in which no concern is ever raised. It is one that holds firmly to the word of God without losing sight of people.
A Church That Notices Who Is Missing — J.D. The number of believers was increasing, and disciples were sharing their possessions to meet one another’s needs. Yet the church’s growth did n...

Friends,
For the first time in twenty-two years, my father did not have to stretch my body on the morning of September 3.
After a snowboarding accident left me with a spinal cord injury, my father became one of my primary caregivers. He helped me get out of bed, shower, dress, and manage many ordinary tasks I could not perform independently. Every morning, he faithfully stretched my body to help prevent my muscles and joints from becoming stiff.
His care protected my body, but it also took a toll on his own. Years of physically assisting me contributed to problems with his hands, including carpal tunnel syndrome. After moving to South Korea, I became eligible for caregiving assistance. Someone else can now share part of the responsibility my father has carried for so many years.
That assistance was not only a gift of help to me. It was also a gift of rest to my father.
I am grateful to God for this provision. I also think of the many families who continue to care for loved ones without adequate assistance. Caregiving may be motivated by love, but love does not make the work effortless. Those who provide care also need to be cared for.
September 3 was special because someone came to help me. But the greater gift was that my father could finally rest. For that grace, I thank God.

Dear friends,
I recently had the opportunity to share my testimony on the Korean Christian television program Saeropge Hasoseo (새롭게 하소서). My prayer is that God would use this testimony for his glory and bring encouragement, comfort, and hope to those who are going through difficult seasons in their lives.

Shalom! I would like to introduce the mission organization I have the privilege of serving.
King’s Table Asia is moving toward the day when people with and without disabilities are welcomed to the King’s table to worship and share fellowship together. We sincerely ask for your prayers and partnership in this meaningful ministry.
Through the seminars and educational curricula we develop, we hope to help individuals and churches grow healthier in their faith by cultivating a biblical understanding of suffering and disability. Furthermore, we desire to share the gospel with people with and without disabilities throughout Asia and serve them together in the love of Christ.
Thank you.

Hello, friends!
Need a ride?
I had a wonderful and meaningful experience completing rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Center in Korea. During my time there, I learned several new exercises and even had the opportunity to practice driving through a virtual driving simulator.
More importantly, I was reminded of how essential regular exercise is, especially for people with disabilities. For many years, I neglected this part of my health. However, I have come to understand that caring for my physical health is also important for sustaining the ministry to which God has called me. Unfortunately, I also learned that I have osteoporosis, which makes continued exercise and proper health management even more necessary.
I was grateful to meet new friends and to receive visits from old friends. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me, prayed for me, and supported me during this time.
So, should you ever need a ride, feel free to call me. However, I cannot guarantee that the experience will be entirely safe or comfortable!
On a more serious note, I pray that rehabilitation hospitals and programs like this will be established throughout the world, especially in countries and communities that lack adequate resources for people with disabilities.
Lord, raise up compassionate leaders, medical professionals, ministry partners, and philanthropists who will help make quality rehabilitation services available to those who need them most.
