The final morning of VBS was memorable as our Tropical Trek felt tropical!
Thanks to a power outage, our kids and volunteers made do without electricity all morning, but still had plenty of energy as we discussed Jesus finding Paul.
Some of the kids even thought the lights were out on purpose, just like Saul was blinded and restored to sight! (If you’re concerned, power was restored to church about an hour after VBS ended.)
Our youth helped take down all of the decorations from VBS after lunch, and before some fun annual traditions at the end of the servant week, they enjoyed games, go carts, high ropes, and laser tag at AmpUp.
It was a fun end to an amazing week!
Thank you again for your prayers and support!

Day 4 (Thursday) of Tropical Trek VBS at Hope focused on Jesus’ Death and Resurrection as our youth and kids played, sang, and talked about the eternal hope we have in Christ. It was an amazing day with the kids’ favorite craft (a sand art butterfly) and favorite games (water games)!
In the afternoon, Hope’s Youth returned to CFNA to do yard work, wash CFNA’s driver’s ed cars, help with some painting, and prepare art projects for the kids who come to the center. Thank you for your prayers during this awesome week!

Day 3 (Wednesday) of Tropical Trek VBS was focused on the story of Zacchaeus and how Jesus finds us when we are lost. It was a great morning with kids from Hope and our community!
In the afternoon, Hope’s Youth spread mulch on the playground, enjoyed Christmas in July, and helped at the Peace Pantry in Cedar Hill.
It was a full, fun, busy day! Thank you for your prayers for VBS and our youth!

Day 2 of VBS/Hope Youth Servant Week!
Tuesday was a wonderful day at VBS at Hope. The youth and VBS attendees played games, sang songs, and enjoyed snacks as they talked about the story of Ruth and Naomi and how God Helps Us When We’re Lonely.
Later in the day, Hope’s Youth spent time at Christian Friends of New Americans (CFNA) in South St Louis and led a mini-VBS about Jesus feeding the 5,000.
It was a busy but fun day sharing the love of Christ!

Day 1 (Monday) of VBS/Hope Youth Servant Week!
Led by Melanie Friel, VBS 2026 got off to a fun start as kids learned how Jesus comes to seek and save!
Our youth helped with games, crafts, Bible story, music and leading kids around to the various activities.
Following a delicious lunch of pulled pork from a generous congregation member, the youth shopped for supplies for the week ahead, prepared lessons for CFNA fun, and then spent the afternoon/evening at Fenton City Park playing pickleball and kickball, enjoying a picnic supper and finishing with a fun scavenger hunt.
Please keep all of Hope’s youth and adult leaders in your prayers this week as they share the love of Jesus with kids from church, HLECC and the community.
Check back for day 2!

Psalm 91 takes seriously the dangers that loom for us in this world, and yet also points us to our source of protection and peace in Christ. This week we join with the psalmist in praying for protection.
