High Ridge Learning Center

High Ridge Learning Center opened in 1981, and has been caring for children for thirty-five years. We are a small center, which allows more interaction between parents, staff, and the children. We don't keep children separated by age all of the time, and allow them to move from room to room throughout the day. This allows more opportunities for younger and older children to interact. High Ridge Learning Center believes children learn and imitate other children around them, and has experienced the benefits of more adept social, speech, and motor skills in young children by allowing them to interact with older peers. They attempt to do things older children are doing, which provides a different, more mature perspective for approaching new tasks. Older children more easily demonstrate compassion and empathy for those around them, and often take on a "mothering" role. In this aspect, the older student becomes a teacher for those around them, thus increasing their self esteem and sense of accomplishment. As educators, the High Ridge Learning Center staff thoroughly enjoys watching the children learn, grow, and develop in a varied age environment. However, we are able to address each child individually, and encourage growth in areas where a child may need more attention. Young students are taught on a Pre-Kindergarten level, and classes are divided by age and ability. Student age ranges between two, three, four, and five years old. Our curriculum is structured to allow fluidity between class levels, so that when they reach the four and five classes, they can work at a faster pace to prepare them for Kindergarten. High Ridge Learning Center is also about having fun! We have a wonderful playground, complete with a large wooden train, and monster truck with a slide out of its back. Swing sets and other toys are also provided in large open areas for running and more playing! Children love being outside, and our intent is to provide a safe environment for them to do so. For your added benefit, we also provide your child with a morning snack, a nutritious lunch, and an afternoon snack. Throughout 35 years of successful business, High Ridge Learning Center has consistently been able to pride itself in providing your children with well educated teachers. Each teacher has a college degree, and brings their own unique strengths to a classroom. In fact, some former students are so positively affected, they return to teach here after college! The stability of your child knowing each day that the same teachers will be here is invaluable for their comfort and confidence. By placing your child in our fun, controlled, and educational environment, your largest problem will soon become your child wanting to stay at school rather than go home at the end of the school day. High Ridge Learning Center would like to extend an offer for parents and their children to tour our education center during operational hours each week. Our location is easily located on High Ridge Boulevard across from The Ridge, a local restaurant.
