High Point University student Jake Ankrum has been awarded the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, one of the nation’s top honors for undergraduate research in science and mathematics.

A heartfelt thank-you to the young women of Alpha Chi Omega at High Point University for their generous donation of a Thanksgiving meal for the individuals and families that were staying at our domestic violence shelter last week. Your support helps ensure survivors of domestic violence can enjoy a warm holiday meal and feel cared for by their community.

Not only have they had an incredible season on the field, this team is an incredible group of guys led by the best coaching staff in the nation. Can't wait to see what the next few weeks hold.

So thankful to the Charmans and the many other families who make our continued growth and innovation possible. Students will benefit from this investment for generations to come.

Yesterday, the university broke ground on our new John and Lorraine Charman Library, a $100 million library that will open in 2027.

HPU received a $35 million transformational lead gift from John and Lorraine Charman to help fund the four-story, 150,000-square-foot library that will be named in honor of them. The new library will be located next to the R.G. Wanek Center on Panther Drive.

President Qubein described the Charman Library as an “educational, academic and intellectual gift” to current and future HPU students to come.

“This is a great day at High Point University because this campus has been transformed into what The Princeton Review says is the Best-Run College is America,” Qubein said. “This library takes us to a whole new level of learning, growing and maturing. It will be a state-of-the-art library, and we are very grateful. We look forward to a new day at this incredible institution.”

Former HPU pole vaulter Austin Miller is officially the USA Men’s Pole Vault Champion, the first-ever High Point University track and field athlete to claim the national title.

From walking onto campus as a freshman to soaring to new heights at Hayward Field, Austin’s journey has been one of persistence, dedication, and Panther pride. After clearing a personal-best 5.92m, he’s now earned his place on Team USA and will compete on the world stage this September in Tokyo!

"Austin has stayed consistent, trained relentlessly, and never left HPU," says Coach Scott Houston. "He deserves every bit of this moment."

We couldn’t be prouder — and we’ll be cheering him on all the way to the World Championships! 🇺🇸🌍
