Refresh is for every mom, in every season.
To the mama with a newborn on her hip. To the mama chasing a toddler who just learned to run. To the mama navigating middle school drama. To the mama waving her teenager off to practice, or her college kid off to campus. To the mama whose house is quieter now than it's ever been.
"Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything in love." β 1 Corinthians 16:13β14
Standing firm looks different in every season β but there's a seat for you in every single one of them. Which season are you in right now? Drop it below.

Meet Laura Sigmon Parker π€
Raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky with her parents and five siblings, Laura grew up gardening, hiking, and riding horses β learning early to recognize God's handiwork in His creation. One of the first verses she ever memorized:
"I will lift mine eyes to the hills β from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." β Psalm 121:1β2
Laura moved to Newton in 1989 with her husband Bill and their three children, where she's spent her career as a hospitalist nurse practitioner. Now contemplating retirement, she's looking forward to pouring the love of God into her 9 grandchildren β and she serves as chair-elect to the Elder board at Corinth.
At our first-ever Weekend Refresh on October 24, Laura is bringing a message on Standing Firm in Your Calling. As women, we're pulled in a dozen directions at once trying to meet everyone else's needs β so how do we keep from being pulled away from our source of strength altogether? Laura will walk us through three simple truths: know your calling, know your foundation, know your sources of stability.

Missed it live, or just want to hear it again? π§
Van Walton's message from our September Refresh β Anchoring Your Home in God's Truth β is now up on the podcast.
In this episode, you'll hear Van walk through what it really means to anchor your home: teaching your kids who Jesus is before anything else, having the courage to show them the Bible is true (yes, even the Dead Sea Scrolls make an appearance), and the picture of passing your "baton of faith" on to the next generation.
Perfect for your drive, your folding-laundry time, or your walk.

Meet Crystal Wimbish π€
Crystal has been married to her high school sweetheart, Josh, for 18 years, and together they have two boys. They recently built their forever home in Granite Falls, where some of their favorite moments are spent simply being together and welcoming others in. In a house full of boys, Crystal believes a full house makes for a life well lived.
At the heart of her life is her love for the Lord. She considers it a privilege to be a walking testimony of His faithfulness, grace, and goodness, whether that's discipling others, gathering around God's Word, or praying fervently for the people He's placed in her life.
On October 21, Crystal is bringing a message on Protecting Our Kids in a Digital World. How do we love our children through the hard things they'll encounter on their phones? Hard conversations, but real love.
You'll walk away knowing:
π± What to check on phones, apps, games, and devices
π© The red flags related to online safety
π¬ How to have calm, age-appropriate conversations with your kids
π€ How to build a family tech plan rooted in trust and accountability

"There is no victory unless you take your baton and hand it to somebody else."
To close out her talk this season, Van shared a clip from Pastor Alex Kennedy at Carmel Baptist Church that's stuck with all of us.
Picture it: somewhere centuries ago, someone passed their baton of faith to someone else. And they passed it on. And they passed it on β generation after generation, all the way down to your grandparents, to your parents, to you.
And here you stand, holding your baton.
What if they had checked out? In this picture, they didn't. And now it's your turn to run your leg of the race β and pass your baton to the ones coming after you.
"Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything in love." β 1 Corinthians 16:13β14
This is what Standing Firm means, mama. Your faithfulness to tell your children who Jesus is and to have the courage to stand firm is the inheritance of somone you will never meet.
Will you do your part?
One month away, mama β in case you missed it, this fall Refresh for Moms is piloting something brand new: a WEEKEND gathering for moms whose Wednesday mornings just don't work.
"She can laugh at the days to come." πΏ That's the picture in Proverbs 31 β not a woman with it all figured out, but one who's steady enough to face whatever's next with strength instead of fear.
That's exactly what Laura Parker is going to unpack at our first-ever Weekend Pilot.

Meet Hayley π¦
She's the one making sure our childcare workers are taken care of β every single month, she makes sure they get a plate from our breakfast spread before anyone else even thinks about it. Easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Impossible to miss once you know.
Hayley shows up with a bright light, a beautiful smile, and a laugh that makes the whole room feel warmer.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." β Colossians 3:23
That's Hayley β serving quietly, faithfully, and with so much joy. Thank you for all you do. π
"No," he answered. "But we'll figure it out."
Van shared something so real this month β when she asked her son if he was ready for the next phase of his life, that was his honest answer.
It reminded her of Joshua, told again and again to be strong and courageous as he stepped into leading God's people after Moses.
That's the second principle of anchoring your home in God's truth: we have to be strong and courageous when we show our kids that the Bible is real and trustworthy β not just something we hope is true.
Van pointed to the Dead Sea Scrolls as proof that Scripture hasn't changed, and to the astonishing odds of fulfilled prophecy (one mathematician calculated the odds of just 8 prophecies being fulfilled in one person at 1 in 10^17) as evidence our kids can actually stand on.
"Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything in love." β 1 Corinthians 16:13β14
You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be strong and courageous enough to start.
