These numbers highlight the importance of ensuring naloxone is readily available in our community and that people are prepared to respond in an emergency.

STIs often have no symptoms, so you may not know you have one. But even without symptoms, infections can cause serious health problems and spread to others. In 2020, 374 million new STI infections occurred globally among adults aged 15–49 with 1 of the 4 curable STIs: syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and trichomoniasis. Most of these of these could be prevented with the correct use of condoms. Need Condoms? We offer free condoms at our Steve's Place location at 211 NC-127, Hickory, NC 28602. In need? Know someone in need? We have free Narcan and Naloxone at our office for those in need. You never know when you may save someones life. Naloxone is a medicine that rapidly reverses an opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist. This means that it attaches to opioid receptors and reverses and blocks the effects of other opioids. Naloxone can quickly restore normal breathing to a person if their breathing has slowed or stopped because of an opioid overdose. But, naloxone has no effect on someone who does not have opioids in their system, and it is not a treatment for opioid use disorder. Examples of opioids include he**in, fentanyl, oxycodone (OxyContin®), hydrocodone (Vicodin®), codeine, and morphine.
