Leo has been with us for 4 months and has come SO far. I recognize that his age works against him, but I gotta say, someone is missing out on a wonderful dog!

Leo is estimated to be 7-8 years old. He is a big boy, and is finally at his ideal weight of 85 lbs! He is a happy guy who loves nothing more than to be near his people. He is an absolute dream of a dog for the right family. Someone who is looking for a loyal, loving, sweet companion will be absolutely smitten by this guy!

He loves going for walks (but can be quite a puller), boxing with our dog Cinco, chewing on toys, laying in the sun, going for car rides and snuggling with humans. He is a dream at the vet's office as well.

I still think Leo would be best as an only dog due to his history of some food aggression with our other dogs. But, that should really not be a deterrent for his ideal adopter. He cohabitates just fine with our 2 dogs, we are just mindful of where everyone is when food is around. He has never shown any aggression to humans, including around food.

He sleeps all night on a dog bed, has never had a single accident in the house, and is crate trained. He can be a barker so I would not recommend apartment living for him.

Leo is a true sweetheart who seeks to please his humans. He has clearly made himself quite comfortable (I catch him relaxing or snoozing on his back more than any dog I've ever had), and deserves a family of his own.

Reba is doing her best to get Tyson to play…usually he is all about it, but today he wasn’t. It was great to see her not react, and just walk away. Progress in the making🩷

First vet visit for Reba today. Of course, everyone told her how pretty she is…
She is now current with vaccines and had blood work done.
Reba has had diarrhea for several days, so she is on probiotics and metronidazole. She has some yeast in her ears, so Animax will be applied twice a day. Reba is about 58 lbs.
We will have an update from the bloodwork as soon as it comes back.

Ahhh…the sweet sound of soft snores and relaxed breathing 😓

Fresh and clean..🧼 Reba did well getting fresh and clean, and did she ever need it! Her bath water was the color of red dirt. Stay tuned for more Reba updates as she settles in and gets more relaxed.

Please welcome Reba to the rescue. Reba was born 11/19/20. Reba has spent the majority of her life as an outside dog. Reba is a leader and will be best with a submissive dog. She is sweet and loves pets and back scratches. She is trying to fully process this new life with her foster family. Reba will need to be fully vetted and acclimate to living her best boxer life inside before she will be available for adoption.

Please welcome Whiskey to the rescue. Whiskey was born 1/1/21, he has been a predominantly outside dog most of his life. He is sweet, laid back, and trying to learn lots of new things. Whiskey will need to be fully vetted and his foster home will work on acclimating him to a new way of life before he will be ready for adoption.

Please welcome 3-ish month old Penny to the rescue.

About Penny from her foster home:
Puppy energy, loves to play
Loves being outside so a fenced in yard is a must
Loves other dogs so there should be another dog in the house or dogs close by she can play with on a regular basis
Does well in a crate
Potty training is a work in process so she will need a home where someone is home to let her out during the day.
Does well on walks. She’s walking with my two daily.
Sleeps through the night in a crate. I do take her out once each night when I wake up myself. She is quiet all night.
Seems fairly smart. She is pretty good at sit and learned how to use the doggie door on the first day we had her.

What does ā€œrescueā€ mean? It’s not always about getting dogs into the rescue….. sometimes we get people in our community that need just a little help, and Mac’s mom is one of those people.
She has had Mac since he was just weeks old, loves him dearly, and was literally willing to do anything (by that I mean to surrender him to the rescue) to make sure he got the surgery he needed. We all know those boxers and their bumps!šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
Thankfully we were able to reach out to Mac’s mom and offer help. We absolutely did not want her to have to give him up, he already had a loving family, he’s very happy, and overall very healthy.
So, BRBR offered to take care of his surgery at our wonderful vets office .
Mac did great with the surgery, and is now home, exactly where he belongs.
Mac’s story is just simply doing what’s best for him, his family, and the right thing.

From Mac’s mom:

ā€œBest dog I’ve ever known! He was born June 1st 2020... This dog is so insanely important to me! I’ve loved every dog I’ve had, but Mac is an absolute 1 of a kind ā¤ļø You all blessed my family in a HUGE way!!ā€
