We are certainly glad you are here. We are a veteran and family-owned business. Our one-of-a-kind programs are not found anywhere else. Come & SEE the difference.
Samurai Institute students develop cognitive learning thru martial arts discipline. Our school is not the typical martial arts school and definitely not your typical martial arts school. We are the ONLY Aikido school in Hickory and have the longest-standing Aikido instructor in the area (Since 1969). We do not punch, kick, or fight in any way. We defend and, more importantly, we survive. Our techniques work because they use force in the attack to neutralize and control the aggressor. Based on relaxed circular motion, we create the energy to effectively subdue and control. Our award-winning curricula and teaching methods ensure that our students forge their minds, bodies, and spirits through correct training to become leading productive members of our community. Applying the ancient disciplines of the samurai warrior, through modern teaching methods, we facilitate our students' growth in themselves to greatness. Our children’s programs give today’s school-age children the advantage to overcome obstacles, maximize their academic learning, and reach their full potential. If this is something you and your family are interested in, please continue reading about all the programs Samurai Institute has to offer.
