During an interview yesterday I had someone terrified that if Medicaid is shut down they wouldn’t have a doula anymore.
If you have Medicaid and the portal goes down, you still need support.
I will still be there

Katja’s Hypnobabies birth center waterbirth was calm, joyful, and everything she had envisioned. Using self-hypnosis, she embraced each wave with confidence and welcomed her baby in the soothing comfort of water. 🌊

“Baby and I sat in the tub for a few minutes and we talked about how different he was from our first son before we moved to the bed. I think I bled a little extra this time, but nothing crazy and I was up and showering within an hour or two. I was so happy to hear that I again did not tear, despite him crowning and be born on the same push (I just wanted him out and to be done with birth).”

Did you know scar massage can make a huge difference in your recovery after a cesarean? Regularly massaging your scar can help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and prevent adhesions from forming under the surface. It’s not just about the physical benefits—it can also help you reconnect with your body after birth. And it's never too late to start!

Here’s how to start once your provider clears you:
1️⃣ Use clean hands and a little oil or lotion.
2️⃣ Gently move the skin around your scar in small circles, up and down, and side to side.
3️⃣ Gradually increase pressure as it feels comfortable.

Head to our Reels page and look for a scar massage video how-to! We'll repost it today in our stories as well.

Take it slow and listen to your body—healing is more than skin deep! 💪✨

P.s. this technique is not recommended during pregnancy unless otherwise advised by a pelvic floor PT. 💜

I cannot explain how excited I am to take Spinning Babys’ training in April! I love the physiology of birth. This will just be another tool in my belt

‘Spinning Babies® is a physiological approach to preparing for and caring for birth. During birth, babies descend through the pelvis by turning to fit each curve in the passage. Baby's turns are “fetal rotation.” If fetal rotation can be made easier, birth is easier for everyone.’ - Spinning Babies Website
