Reality check from the OBX… 🎣

Everyone posts the hero shots. Nobody posts the grind.

We fished the incoming tide and part of the outgoing tide in the sound today. The croakers were absolutely everywhere, and we managed to catch 4 rays.

But…

❌ No drum
❌ No trout
❌ No blues

From the reports we’ve been hearing, this might be one of those weeks where every fish has to be earned.

That’s fishing though. Some days you’re holding a trophy. Other days you’re questioning every lure, bait, and life decision you’ve ever made. 😂

We’re not giving up. We’ll be back at it tomorrow chasing drum, trout, blues, and whatever else wants to cooperate.

UPDATE: The search in Lake Marburg at Codorus State Park is complete. The lake will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, June 9 at 8:00 AM. The incident remains under investigation.

ATTENTION: Lake Marburg will be closed today, June 8, as search efforts continue for a missing boater who was last seen at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. The incident involves an individual on an unpowered watercraft who is believed to have entered the water during a period of inclement weather. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission are investigating the incident.

🎣 The summer just began and Dave is already putting a hurting on the stripers! I bet they can’t wait for summer to be over so he goes back to work. 😂

Dave brought another giant into the shop today — this beast measured 37.75 inches and tipped the scales at 24.5 pounds! 💪🐟

What’s even crazier? These fish are only around 7 years old. The growth rates on these Lake Marburg stripers are absolutely incredible.

If Dave keeps this up, the fish might start filing complaints. 🤣
