Some stories are especially meaningful because we get to watch them grow. 💛

She has been part of the MIA family for nearly five years. We have watched her learn, discover, gain confidence, and make Spanish a natural part of her life.

But her growth goes far beyond language.

Today, we see a caring, confident, and responsible young girl who helps younger children, supports her friends, notices when someone needs a hand, and shows kindness and initiative in the little moments that happen every day.

And that is what makes us especially proud. ✨

Because education isn’t only about what children learn.

It’s also about who they are becoming.

Her journey reminds us of the impact that years of learning, love, consistency, and community can have in a child’s life.

Ella forma parte de la familia MIA desde hace casi cinco años. La hemos visto aprender, descubrir, ganar confianza y hacer del español una parte natural de su vida.

Pero su crecimiento va mucho más allá del idioma.

Hoy vemos a una niña cariñosa, segura y responsable, que ayuda a los más pequeños, acompaña a sus amigos, se da cuenta cuando alguien necesita una mano y demuestra amabilidad e iniciativa en esos pequeños momentos que ocurren cada día.

Y eso es lo que más nos llena de orgullo. ✨

Porque educar no se trata solamente de lo que los niños aprenden.

También se trata de quiénes están llegando a ser.

The Power of a Hug 🤗

Sometimes, a hug says more than words ever could.

I’m here. You’re my friend. You belong. We’re together.

Through these little moments of affection and connection, children learn to care for others, build friendships, cooperate, and experience the joy of being part of a community.

At MIA, growing is not only about what children learn. It’s also about how they connect, care, share, and grow together.

Because sometimes, the biggest feelings come from the smallest arms. 🤍

A veces, un abrazo puede decir mucho más que las palabras.

Estoy aquí. Soy tu amigo. Eres parte de nosotros. Estamos juntos.

A través de estos pequeños momentos de afecto y conexión, los niños aprenden a cuidar a los demás, construir amistades, colaborar y experimentar la alegría de formar parte de una comunidad.

🧡 A is for ANARANJADO!

One letter opened the door to many different learning experiences.

We started with A de ANARANJADO, learning to recognize the color and distinguish it from others, like AMARILLO. Then we explored the colors of fall, practiced writing the letter A, counted orange objects, and discovered ANARANJADO in the world around us—from leaves to the sun. 🍂☀️

And, of course, we experienced it through play, movement, and our senses. 👣✨

Each activity added another layer to the learning.

That’s how learning grows at MIA.

Una sola letra abrió la puerta a muchas experiencias de aprendizaje.

Comenzamos con la A de ANARANJADO, aprendiendo a reconocer el color y diferenciarlo de otros, como el AMARILLO. Luego exploramos los colores del otoño, practicamos la escritura de la letra A, contamos objetos anaranjados y descubrimos este color en nuestro entorno, desde las hojas hasta el sol. 🍂☀️

Y, por supuesto, también lo experimentamos a través del juego, el movimiento y los sentidos. 👣✨

Cada actividad fue sumando una nueva capa al aprendizaje.

Blue is more than a color… it’s an experience!

Our little learners discovered BLUE — AZUL through water, blue sand, and sensory play. 💧🤲

They touched, scooped, poured, explored, and discovered while connecting a new Spanish word with something they could actually see, feel, and experience.

At MIA, we believe learning becomes more meaningful when children can experience it with all their senses. ✨

ES: El azul es mucho más que un color… ¡es una experiencia!

Nuestros pequeños descubrieron el color AZUL a través del agua, la arena azul y el juego sensorial. 💧🤲

Tocaron, recogieron, vertieron, exploraron y descubrieron mientras relacionaban una nueva palabra en español con algo que podían ver, sentir y experimentar.

En MIA creemos que el aprendizaje se vuelve más significativo cuando los niños pueden vivirlo a través de todos sus sentidos. ✨

It Looks Like Play… But Look Closer! 🌱🤲

Playing with dirt may look simple, but little hands are doing some very important work.

As children grow, the same activity begins to look completely different. A younger child may start by grasping, touching, and exploring. Later, they begin using tools to scoop, collect, pour, build, and create. And as their skills develop, imagination opens up even more possibilities.

Through outdoor sensory play, children practice grip and fine motor skills, strength and coordination, sensory integration, language and thinking skills, creativity, and independence. ✨

Same activity. Different stages. New discoveries.

At MIA, play is learning. 💛

Jugar con tierra puede parecer algo sencillo, pero esas pequeñas manos están haciendo un trabajo muy importante.

A medida que los niños crecen, una misma actividad comienza a verse completamente diferente. Los más pequeños pueden comenzar agarrando, tocando y explorando. Luego empiezan a utilizar herramientas para recoger, trasladar, verter, construir y crear. Y mientras desarrollan nuevas habilidades, su imaginación abre todavía más posibilidades.

A través del juego sensorial al aire libre, los niños practican el agarre y la motricidad fina, la fuerza y coordinación, la integración sensorial, el lenguaje y el pensamiento, la creatividad y la autonomía. ✨

This week, our little learners explored a new color: RED — ROJO!

Through play, observation, and hands-on activities, children connected what they could see and experience with a new word in Spanish.

While practicing the color YELLOW, our little learners met Mr. Sun and learned a new Spanish word:

This week, we practiced the number one — UNO and the color yellow — AMARILLO, using something very familiar to our little learners as an example: our MIA Van! 🚌

Connecting new Spanish words with things children see in their everyday lives makes learning more natural, meaningful, and fun. ✨
